You can not only simply turn relay on or off, but set up Automation rule to control relays.<\/p><p>Here will show you an example about how to set up conditional rule to control relays.<\/p><p><strong>Task<\/strong>: <strong><em>Turn Relay 3 ON automatically when Relay 1 and Relay 2 are switched ON<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong><em>: I am testing with the ProXR relay board from&nbsp;<\/em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.controlanything.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>National Control Devices<\/em><\/a><em>. It also works for the relay board from&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/http\/\/robot-electronics.co.uk\/\"><em>Robot Electronics<\/em><\/a><em> and <\/em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vellemanusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Velleman<\/em><\/a><em>, which are supported in N-Button. Click the button to turn on\/off all relays. This is to make sure the connection is valid, and the relay board works well with N-Button software. <\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-5.png\" alt=\"Relay Button widget - Toggle All Relays\" class=\"wp-image-5104\"\/><\/figure><p>Step 4: Right-click the Relay Button to reopen N-Button Manger. Open <strong>Conditions Manager<\/strong>, add 3 Conditions to mark the relays\u2019s status.&nbsp;<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Condition 1: Simple Condition for relay 1, initial status is Not Meet<\/li><li>Condition 2: Simple condition for relay 2 ,initial status is Not Meet<\/li><li>Condition 3: Compound condition for relay 3, which include above two simple conditions, select Meet All.<\/li><\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-7.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-7.png\" alt=\"N-Buttn software - Add Conditions for relays\" class=\"wp-image-5106\"\/><\/a><\/figure><p>Step 5: Add 3 <strong>Condition Statu<\/strong>s widgets to show the status of Condition 1, Condition 2, and Condition 3. This step is optional. It just lets you see the status clearly. <\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-8.png\" alt=\"Condition Status widgets\" class=\"wp-image-5108\"\/><\/figure><p>Step 6:  Open <strong>Actions List Manager<\/strong>, add 4 <strong>Actions List<\/strong>s to switch Relay 1 and Relay 2 separately together with related conditions. That indicates the Condition 1 &#8211; 3 are all in Meet. Click the buttons Relay 1 Off and Relay 2 Off, the Condition Status widget will turn to Red.  Then Conditions are all in Not Meet.<\/p><p>Step 8: Open <strong>Automation Manger<\/strong>, add a Condition Rule for Condition 3. <\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Set Turn Off Relay 3 for Action when Condition Changers from Meet to Not Meet.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Set Turn On Relay 3 for Action when Condition Changers from Not Meet to Meet.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-23-700x538.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/image-23-700x538.png\" alt=\"N-Button Automation - Condition Rule\" class=\"wp-image-5128\"\/><\/a><\/figure><p>After finishing all above settings, click the Customized Buttons to turn Relay 1 and Relay 2 on, you will see Relay 3 is ON automatically. When you turn Relay 1 or Relay 2 off, Relay 3 will be switched to off.<\/p><p>This is just a simple example to control relays with Condition rule. There are more ways to control relays with N-Button software.
