Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vellemanstore.com\/en\/blog\/controlling-your-k8090-vm8090-with-quick-timer-r8x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Controlling your K8090\/VM8090 with Quick Timer R8X<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/RelayTimerR8XInfo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Relay Timer R8X<\/a> software allows you set up alarm to turn on\/off relay channels automatically at indicated time point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This blog will show you an example about how to use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/RelayTimerR8XInfo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Relay Timer R8X<\/a> software to control K8090 VM8090.<\/p>\n<p>Example task for controlling the K8090 with Relay Timer R8X<\/p>\n<p>At 11:00:00am, we want the K8090 to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn Relay 1-8 On one by one with 2-second interval (11:00:00 \u201311:00:14)<\/li>\n<li>Then turn Relay 1-8 OFF one by one with 2-second interval (11:00:16 \u201311:00:30)<\/li>\n<li>And then turn Relay 1-8 All On for 8 seconds (11:00:32 \u201311:00:40)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Setting up Relay Timer R8X to control the K8090<\/p>\n<p>1. Connect K8090 with your computer through USB cable.<\/p>\n<p>2. Download and Install\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/RelayTimerR8XInfo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Relay Timer R8X<\/a> software.<\/p>\n<p>3. Launch Relay Timer R8X, set up connection for Relay Timer R8X and K8090.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Click <strong>Configure<\/strong> button to open Configuration panel<\/li>\n<li>Select Manufacturer \u2013&gt;Velleman<\/li>\n<li>Select Device Type \u2013&gt; VM8090 K8090<\/li>\n<li>Select Port Name for connected K8090<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-9.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Configuration - Velleman VM8090\/K8090\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-9.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Configuration - Velleman VM8090\/K8090\" width=\"640\" height=\"266\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the connection is set up, you will see the connection information on Relay Timer R8X status bar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Connection Status- Velleman VM8090\/K8090\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-10.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Connection Status- Velleman VM8090\/K8090\" width=\"590\" height=\"195\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The flashing arrow means the K8090 has been connected with Relay Timer R8X successfully. It\u2019s ready to control the K8090 relay channels.<\/p>\n<p>There are 8 control panels for K8090 8-relay channels separately. It includes relay channel name, relay channel number, relay status light, auto control area and manual Control area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SNAGHTML4bbdc54.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Control Panel\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SNAGHTML4bbdc54_thumb.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Control Panel\" width=\"477\" height=\"219\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can also control all relay channels manually together with All On and All Off button. After you set up auto control setting for all relay channels, click All Auto button to switch all relay channels in auto control mode. Set auto control alarm for Relay 1.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click auto control Setting button for Relay 1 to open Relay Setting panel<\/li>\n<li>Click Add button to open Schedule Setting panel<\/li>\n<li>Select Relay Status \u2013Turn On<\/li>\n<li>Set up Schedule Time Start as 11:00:00<\/li>\n<li>Set up Schedule Time End as 11:00:16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control -Setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-11.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control -Setting\" width=\"640\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click OK button back to Relay Setting panel, you will see Schedule 1 is added here<\/li>\n<li>Click Add button again to add Schedule 2\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Select Relay Status \u2013Turn On<\/li>\n<li>Set up Schedule Time Start as 11:00:32<\/li>\n<li>Set up Schedule Time End as 11:00:40<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Schedule Setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-12.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Schedule Setting\" width=\"640\" height=\"324\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click OK button back to Relay Setting panel, you will see Schedule 2 is added also<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-13.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Relay Setting 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-13.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Relay Setting 1\" width=\"640\" height=\"370\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click OK button on Relay Setting panel to finish auto control setting for Rely1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Follow Step 4 to set auto control alarm for Relay 2-8.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When add Schedule 1 for Relay 2-8, the Start time should be 2 seconds later than the previous channel, and the End time should be 2 seconds later than the previous channel also. That means each relay channel will be turned on 16 seconds. Schedule 1 Start time and End time for Relay 2-8 should be like below:\n<ul>\n<li>Relay 2 \u2013 11:00:02 \u201311:00:18<\/li>\n<li>Relay 3 \u2013 11:00:04 \u201311:00:20<\/li>\n<li>Relay 4 \u2013 11:00:06 \u201311:00:22<\/li>\n<li>Relay 5 \u2013 11:00:08 \u201311:00:24<\/li>\n<li>Relay 6 \u2013 11:00:10 \u201311:00:26<\/li>\n<li>Relay 7 \u2013 11:00:12 \u201311:00:28<\/li>\n<li>Relay 8 \u2013 11:00:14 \u201311:00:30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Add the same Schedule 2 for Relay 2-8 as Relay 1 in Step 4. Each relay channel will be turned on during 11:00:32 \u2013 11:00:40<\/li>\n<li>The Relay Setting for Relay 8 should be shown as below<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image-14.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Relay Setting 8\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-14.png\" alt=\"Relay Timer R8X - Automation Control - Relay Setting 8\" width=\"640\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>6. After finishing the auto control settings for all relay channels, click All Auto button to <strong>make sure each relay channel stay in auto control mode<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can also click down Auto mode button on each relay channel manually one by one.
