Here will show you how to use <strong>Schedule Rule<\/strong> to control light.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"N-Button Automation Rule - Shedule Rule\" style=\"display: inline\" alt=\"N-Button Automation Rule - Shedule Rule\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb7.png\" width=\"294\" height=\"398\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Example: Turn on the light at 8:00pm \u2013 10:00pm everyday.<\/p>\n<p>To control the light with your computer, actually, it is to control the relay, which connected with the light, with <strong>N-Button<\/strong> software. So, connect relay board with your light first.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb21.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Light Control with N-Button\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Light Control with N-Button\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb2_thumb.png\" width=\"504\" height=\"211\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can choose relay board with Serial Port, USB, or Ethernet interface from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.controlanything.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Control Devices<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robot-electronics.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robot Electronics<\/a>, or Velleman, which are now supported in N-Button.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image8.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"N-Button supports Relay Boards\" style=\"display: inline\" alt=\"N-Button supports Relay Boards\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb8.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"264\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are the steps for how to control the light\/relay with N-Button software<\/p>\n<p>Step 1: Install <a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/NButtonInfo.htm\">N-Button<\/a> Lite or Pro, and connect relay board with computer.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Run N-Button, add the relay board to Devices Manager. Here three relay boards\/devices are added to show the different interfaces. Only one of them will be used later to control the light.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"N-Button Devices Manager\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"N-Button Devices Manager\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb12_thumb.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"248\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Add <strong>Relay Button<\/strong> widget to test the connection. Be sure the light will be turned on or off when you click the Relay Button on your desktop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"N-Button Relay Button\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"N-Button Relay Button\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/sptblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image_thumb11_thumb.png\" width=\"549\" height=\"525\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Click <strong>Automation<\/strong> button on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.serialporttool.com\/NButtonInfo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">N-Button Pro<\/a>\/Lite Manager, add <strong>Schedule Rule.<\/strong>&nbsp; Set rule 2-hour ON to turn relay on start from 8:00pm, and duration 2 hours, shown as below.
